AB Tech Volunteer Events
Construction is nearing completion on our wetland project at AB-Tech. RiverLink is delighted to continue our work to develop wetlands to create habitat for native plant and animal species, filter rainwater before it reaches our rivers and streams, and slow water to reduce flash flooding. We will work to create native species diversity and improve water quality. If you are interested in making an impact in the community and on the French Broad River, please join us for our workdays on the dates listed below, from 10am-12pm.
Please indicate below what date(s) you would like to volunteer out of the dates listed below:
September 8th, September 15th, September 22nd, September 29th
We will meet at the the parking lot at AB-Tech Walking Trail -
39 Fernihurst Dr. Asheville,NC 28801 at 10am.
RiverLink will provide all necessary tools and equipment. Closed-toed shoes are required and pants are recommended. We also recommend everyone bring a water bottle and gardening gloves if you have them, but we will also provide gloves if needed. Please be aware that we will be hiking up to a quarter mile over uneven terrain to get to the work site. We won't be getting in the wetlands, but we may be crossing a small stream, so wear shoes that are waterproof or that you don't mind getting wet.
Please contact [email protected] if you have any questions. We look forward to seeing you there!
Please note that all volunteer events are weather dependent. Our staff will send out an email a day in advance if we need to cancel the event due to weather.
