Southside Volunteer Workdays
The Southside Community Stormwater Project was a collaborative effort to address water quality issues. Green stormwater infrastructure features were constructed to help capture and filter runoff before it reaches Nasty Branch and the French Broad River, as well as provide community amenities to Erskine Apartments.
If you are interested in helping us maintain these features and protect water quality, please join us for our recurring volunteer workdays every Thursday from 10am-12pm, until the end of June.
Please indicate what date(s) you would like to volunteer out of the dates listed below:
May 23 - May 30 - June 6 - June 13 - June 20 - June 27
We will meet at Herb Watts Park - address: 64 Erskine Street, Asheville NC 28801. There is street parking on Livingston Street beside the Southside Community Orchard/Herb Watts Park.
RiverLink will provide all necessary tools and equipment. Closed-toed shoes are required and long pants are recommended. We also recommend everyone bring a water bottle. We will provide gloves, but feel free to bring your own gardening gloves.
Please note that all volunteer work days are weather dependent. Our staff will send out an email in advance if we need to cancel due to weather.
Contact waterresources@riverlink.org if you have any other questions.
We look forward to seeing you there!
